There is one main road around the island. From this road you can reach all the beaches in the island. The most popular beaches are: South west bay is the longest beach in the island, popular for its horse races on Saturdays and its delicious seafood restaurants. Manchaneel Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches on South East coast of the island. At night you can experience live local music at Roland’s Roots bar. Maracaibo Bay: From this peninsula, great views from crab key and the natural park MacBean lagoon can be appreciated. Kayak rental can be found here too. Santa Catalina Island: the perfect place to snorkel and also go hiking to Morgan’s head and visit some historical places, like the fort and Morgan’s cave. The Lover’s Bridge communicates this island with Providence. Almond bay: is a small beach between the center bay and San Felipe neighborhood. There is a nice view of Santa Catalina and the center. Freshwater bay: here is the tourist point of the island with restaurants and hotels and where you can rent a moped or a golf car. Enjoy an ice cream on Arts and Crafts Café! Horse back riding tours are also available as well as hiking to the peak, where you can have a great view of the island (start of the hike is Bottom House neighborhood) The immense barrier reef sourounding Providence offers innumerable possibilities for snorkelling and diving (read more in the Diving Section).
